the big brother...

Everyone has been asking how Gavin is doing in his new role as big brother. Well... he is doing good. I don't say great because it is taking a lot to teach him how to be soft and gentle with new baby sister. He gets so excited to see her and likes to scratch her like he gives the dogs scratches. I think he is also testing the waters, figuring out what he can and can't do with her. Lucky for us, Teagan is a champ and holds up to her brother's testing well.

I will say that Teagan started out on the right foot with her brother. She waited to arrive just long enough so her brother could go to his first baseball game with his daddy the day before she was born. Good going Teagan! And check out these pictures of this happy brother!

Luckily our favorite team was playing in a spring training game here in Sarasota, the Boston Red Sox.
Thanks Grandma for the great seats!

Mark said Gavin loved to put his drink in the holder just like daddy did.

 Pure happiness.

Now that Teagan is here one of Gavin's repeated sentences is "Go see Teagan". If she is up in her basket he runs to get his stool so he can see her. It is pretty cute. He loves to sit with her and, when allowed, to hold her. Here are the new siblings...

...and the furry siblings meeting Teagan for the first time...
They are doing great. Even Polly who was really freaked out by Gavin when he first came home. Polly goes up to Teagan and gives her kisses.

Any time Teagan is sleeping, which is a lot right now, is Gavin's time. I am not getting much other stuff done, but Gavin is getting a lot of snuggle time and attention. Here he is painting a wooden car my friend Michelle sent him in a set. He has been dying to paint these cars. Something I told him he had to wait to do after Teagan arrived.

He was super excited. Thanks Michelle! Thanks to all our family and friends who have given Gavin special gifts to celebrate his new big brotherhood! It helps him know what a special brother he... is... and... working to become. I repeat... gentle, gentle!! :)
