When I first started to seriously think about doing a blog I told my old college roommate Michelle. I love her take on life! She told me she got annoyed reading some people's blogs because it seemed to be a place to brag about their lives... so Michelle and everyone else... I promise not to use this medium to brag!! I feel compelled to tell the unique story of our family. We definitely live life differently and I always have friends, family, strangers ask how we do what we do. (I can't help, but hear a football player's voice in my head who once said, we just do what we do!) After talking with one of my closets friends yesterday about Mark flying commercial with one of our dogs today posing as a service dog (I promise to write more about this later!) she laughed and said we are crazy. Yes we are! So my plan is to use this blog to capture, explain and maybe even inspire you with our crazy life.
My biggest challenge as a wife and mama is to try not to sacrifice anything that I deem important to give my family. Amongst the chaos I still love to cook, create and be a fun mom. I will share ideas about each. I also apologize upfront for any grammatical or spelling errors. I am NOT a writer, that is my sister's gift, but I still love to be creative and want to share. I have a quote that hangs in my kitchen (well... it is in storage now!) but it says- "There is no shortcut to any place worth going". I gave it to Mark as an anniversary gift one year. We definitely don't choose the easy route, but isn't a trip more about the journey??!!
the life i love...
Kristy - I'm excited to be the first to comment on "thebowersinpursuit" - it is great - you and your family are very special - that is the way I raised you! - Be yourself, be unique. The thing I admire about the Bowers is they don't sit and wish for this or that - they get out and do it. They are like the grandma in the movie "Parenthood" - they like the roller coaster - you get more out of it - the merry-go-round just goes round and round - there is no excitement. Mom XXOO
